Short Workouts After 40

A short workout can be useful precisely because it lowers the barrier to starting. The important question is what you put inside the time.

Seven minutes

Seven minutes is enough time to move, practice a compact circuit or create a focused training stimulus. It is not automatically a complete strength program simply because the clock says seven minutes.

Ten to twenty minutes

A little more time can make room for warm-up, additional sets, longer rests or a broader exercise selection. For resistance training, rest and technique matter too.

Make short sessions coherent

Instead of collecting random workouts, repeat a small number of sessions long enough to notice whether your capacity is improving. Track a simple variable such as repetitions, resistance or exercise variation.
