Home Workouts After 40

A useful home setup can be remarkably small. Start with enough space to move safely, then add resistance only when it helps progression.

Bodyweight first

Chairs, walls and floor-based variations can scale many basic patterns. Bodyweight is convenient, though some movements eventually become harder to progress precisely without added resistance.

Bands and dumbbells

Bands are compact and portable. Dumbbells make external load easy to understand and adjust. Neither is universally better; choose based on movements, space and how you plan to progress.

Keep the setup frictionless

Store equipment where you train, keep a written session nearby, and use a repeatable warm-up rather than spending your workout deciding what to do.
